Memories from the Future

Laurent Moulager

Imagination is always tricky. It mixes the past and present, to form what we believe may be a future. Helped by stories, movies or cartoons, we always seem to see the future as either very dark, end of the world-like, or shiny and bright, with a utopian civilization where all our current problems are gone. Between the fairy tales, and the Armageddon, let’s say I’m in the middle.

I want my pictures to provoke. I want the viewer to be struck, with a level of discomfort and yet a with a sense of beauty. I do not edit my pictures with Photoshop, instead I work in real time creating startling effects during the photoshoot. In post production I work only on the saturation, clarity, brightness and contrast.
